The poverty in the province of Salta is not directly visible from the capital's fancy street cafés, yet hundreds of thousands of people live in slum areas around the city, and poverty is ubiquitous in the region. Casa del Niño supports impoverished, often terminally ill children by giving them care and shelter during their treatment in the children's hospital in Salta.

Project HOPE

Project Hope provides basic healthcare and educational activities for marginalized children in Ubud, Bali. We work with project Hope from July 2nd until July 15th, 2010. Our activities include

• painting of the center
• supporting empoverished families
• personal hygiene workshop

Ikageng

"Ikageng aims to improve the quality of life for orphaned and other vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS on a sustainable basis, and to ensure that they achive and live a fair life like every other child [and] to help develop [them] into educated, employable adults who could be contributors to the society."

We visit the center twice and support this cause with a donation.

The Holy Cross Hospice in Gaborone provides care and support to the terminally ill and patients with life limiting illnesses, orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), and their families and caregivers in Gaborone.

Caritas Egypt

Caritas Egypt does community outreach in empoverished areas of Cairo. They provide cheap healthcare and vocational training for marginalized and mentally challenged children.

We visit one of their centers in Cairo and make a modest contribution for the education of mentally challenged children.

Bourj El-Barajneh

Bourj El-Barajneh refugee camp, Beirut, Lebanon

Bourj El-Barajneh refugee camp has been established in 1955l. The living condition of many life-long refugees in the refugee camp are horrible.

We support three patients with much needed medicine and a contribution to their hospital fees.
